Bob and Carrie Louer
ISI Princeton Campus Directors
A New Jersey native, Bob loved sitting next to the maps on the bulletin board at his elementary school. He dreamt of traveling the world. In college, on holiday, and while working in pharmaceuticals, he gathered passport stamps from five continents.
His wanderlust has him always plotting another exciting world adventure. He is curious and loves to learn. Bob is wary of the allure and self-centered vanity of going through the motions of religion, yet drawn to the peace and joy one experiences in an other-centered relational encounter with God as revealed in Christ. He enjoys watching sports, running on Princeton’s canal path and listening to good music.
Carrie is a farm girl from rural Ohio. She has six older siblings. Her childhood home was full of life. Not surprisingly, she feels most alive when her home is brimming with people. She believes Jesus meets us at the table with freedom and joy. She loves serving nourishing food, engaging in conversations of substance and fun, and getting lost in a good book. Princeton’s canal path brings her great joy, as she loves a slow jog on a crisp morning.
Bob and Carrie have been married 8 years and are excited about helping Princeton’s international graduate students thrive.

John and Aruna Desai
ISI Global Outreach Staff
As international students who had each completed a graduate degree from Princeton Seminary, John and Aruna Desai founded ISI Princeton in 1976. They have welcomed and impacted the lives of international students and families from 150 countries. They have made trips and visited alumni in 25 countries.
Today, they continue to mentor Princeton alumni who are scattered globally one-to-one and in groups via Zoom. John and Aruna exude the love of Christ, by God’s grace. They reflect what it looks like to love and serve others for the glory of the One to whom they devote their lives.
